Observations of a Gen-Xer

I am a Gen-Xer and I'll tell you what, despite the frustration with my generation, I'm proud of that fact.  I was a late in life baby (my mom was almost 50 for crying out loud) and as a kid, that often caused certain people to make fun of that fact.  That statement is dedicated to a supposed best friend I had at the age of fifteen named Tracey Murray who often giggled about my mom and even made fun of my late dad.  Why am I bringing it up?  Well, I'm in one of those slap-happy moods today and I feel like it.  This all ties into my point though- I had a really, really great childhood.  I had great toys and books and plenty of pals.  I went places that kids liked (Hershey Park, etc) and my parents rocked, especially my mom.  Hell, I even got a motorcycle jacket in 11th grade.  As a matter of fact, I was the only kid in my graduation class that was allowed to drive the car to school every day.  Life was good as a Gen-Xer.

Moving along, I've had problems like everybody else and to be honest, I'm enjoying the day more and more each day.  Personally, life is good.  Treasure life- it's a lot of fun and you don't have to spend your entire day online to figure that out.  However, and there's always a however right?  The years 2020-2022 have proved that the entire world has gone insane.  The democratic party, the party I grew-up with, has gone insane.  For one I never thought I'd see Joe Biden as president.  For one the guy is to old and this guy has always been known as one of the most corrupt people in the Senate.  Secondly, I never thought I'd see the racial uprising that this country is suffering through.  Our president has not only egged it on but he's celebrate it.  I keep shaking my head at how much damage this guy's doing.

The second thing, I never thought I'd see Donald Trump as president.  People I didn't like Trump.  I voted for Ralph Nader in honor of my late dad in 2020.  I think Trump, especially today, is still the same big mouth that he's always been.  He's a lot like the elitist democratic party, he likes to whine and gloat.  Do a lot of you get this yet?  He doesn't really want to be reelected- he likes the martyr kick.  Why all of you think that he's going to save you is beyond me.  I never thought that I'd see people fall into this abyss of thinking politics will save you.  Let's move on...

As a Gen-Xer, I never thought that my Generation-X would shrug their shoulders and not call out the actions of AOC and her pals.  These people have done nothing but cause racial hatred and have had influence on letting my two favorite cities New York and St. Louis gone downhill.  Thanks for nothing, AOC.  I wish more people could wake-up to how rotten how all of you are, but I digress.  As a Gen-Xer, here's something else that still baffles me.

How America just caved to the Covid restrictions is beyond me.  Why many, especially in my generation, didn't take those masks off and just throw them away is beyond me.  I'm amazed at the fact that compliance is so common.  The supposed 'Youth Gone Wild' have completely caved on this.  Finally, here's one more thing as a Gen-Xer here's one thing I can't believe has happened.   What about the vaccine passports- why are you putting up with this Gen-X?

Wokeness.  Gen-X, the movies you watched as a kid have been destroyed for the Twitter audience.  The books mom and dad have read to you have been criticized or banned.  Look for more classic children's book to be banned this year.  Now, in terms of education, I had a great education at my public school but then again, I didn't have a cell phone with me 24/7.  Anyway, the fact that my generation hasn't stepped up to defend what they've grew-up with is sickening.  However, this material can definitely go in a book one day- lol- just wait...

In conclusion, let me say this.  Personally, I'm enjoying my life and guess what?  I'm still unjabbed and staying that way.  My mind is astonished at what's going on in America and I believe I have a lot to offer in the fight for the good things in this country.  I look forward to a lot of good thing this year and many years beyond.  Rock on everybody!!!  I know I will!
