Diversity Doesn't Make Knowledge- Personal Drive Does
Apparently, a museum in Chicago decided to fire its longtime staff because they felt the need to be more 'diverse.'
Stop and think about that for a second...
The main argument for crticial race theory is the fact that people, children especially, 'need to learn the real history. People, let me give you a little bit of a clue about museums. Museums are a part of history, a painting, a statue, an archeological relic gives you an idea of the other age. A well-rounded, well-trained staff is an asset which will make a museum more interesting and appealing to those looking for an interesting way to spend their afternoon. So, what does that mean for the museum in Chicago?
Well, it's funny in a sense, because I've been to a lot of museums and call me a bunch of r-names but many times the largest crowds in museums are white. Does that mean other races don't go? Of course not but again- I've been to a lot of museums and what I'm reporting is observations. I've also seen tour guides of many color and all seemed knowledgable and interesting. Now, when you take away a longtime staff away from an institution just because of their skin color here's what it does-
You don't create interest- you make indifference. Color doesn't replace knowledge or storytelling and that's exactly what makes a good museum guide. That Chicago museum staff that was fired were also teachers in a sense and their knowledge gave a lot of people a chance to open up their minds more to the art world. A new staff, logically, won't be as knowledgable and will depend more on say Wikipedia instead of book knowledge to do their job. With all of that being said-
We've been hearing for a couple of years that critical race theory is about teaching 'real history.' My question to all of you who are 'woke' is this- how can you teach real history when you take away those who knew the most? Color doesn't make knowledge people- knowledge makes knowledge, no matter what color you are.
