So, Charlottesville Doesn't Appreciate Sacajawea

So, Charlottesville tore down statues- everyone applauded.  Bye-bye Robert E. Lee- Bye Lewis and Clark and Sacajawea.

    Hey wait a minute...huh?

They tore down a Sacajawea statue???

Oh wait- a lot of you don't know who Sacajawea was, right?  I doubt many of you know who Lewis and Clark were.  Let me explain, briefly...

Lewis and Clark were chosen by Thomas Jefferson to explore the new land that was acquired in the Louisiana Purchase.  Sacajawea was an woman that they became acquainted with who led the way in exploring the new land.  It's a great story.  I encourage all of you to read the story or tell your kids about it.  Like I said, it's a great story and Sacajawea was one of my favorite people in history.  She was definitely more interesting than Pocahontas and I often thought that she was under-appreciated.  With all of that being said- let's note:

Charlottesville not only took down the General Lee statue but took down the statue of Lewis and Clark and Sacajawea.  Sacajawea was on her knees, in a pose that looked like she was tracking but some deemed it as demeaning.  Good God people, you just erased an awesome female character from history just because an 'activist' group said so.

You know a lot of other groups tore down statues and destroyed historical artifacts. One example was that group in Syria not that long ago but gee- I can't remember their name.

    Get the sarcasm?
