Flamingos Died For the Sake of Climate Change
A sad story came out of Turkey. A lot of flamingos that come to the center of the country for what it seems to be breeding purposes. Unfortunately their water source dried up and a lot of them died. The extremely alarming thing about this that no one seemed interested in the fact that a lot of baby flamingos were out there dying. Now, I'm going to pose some ideas to you in forms of questions and I want you to think really hard about these:
There is a World Wildlife Federation branch in Turkey. Why weren't they out there?
I don't know how easy it is to get into Turkey lately and I admit it. However, I'd like to know this- where were the scientists from zoos, aviaries and sanctuaries in Europe? Seriously, it seems to be well-known that the area was in trouble due to droughts. Why weren't people out there to help them?
Couldn't some of these young flamingos been taken to sanctuaries and released later in the wild?
What animal is going to be next? Do you know what's funny? When Cecil the lion was murdered by that rotten dentist in Minnesota everyone was determined to help lions- now no one cares. Are lions next on the altar of climate change?
Will that area that turned into a cemetery for dead flamingos end up being filled with windmills next year at this time?
Is climate change really about helping the environment or is it about making people a lot of money?
