From Atlanta to Denver: Are You Going to the All-Star Game
So, it looks like the Major League Baseball All-Star Game will go to Colorado. How are you
feeling Denver? In another time, you'd be excited. All-Star Games are a ton of fun. It's a wild time of
autograph hunting and hanging out with pals. However, judging by Spring Training reports, the
autographing will probably be non-existent and who really knows if pandemic hysteria will even let a
lot of people go to this event. With all of that being said...
This game should've never been moved out of Atlanta. Why? The principle that's why. Sports is
meant for fun and as a lifetime baseball fan the social justice aspect of baseball disgusts me. It's bad
enough that managers have taken the literal fun out of the game with shifts, changing pitchers every
other inning and just getting away from fun of the game. And don't even get me started on the how
those nets make you feel like you're watching the game in the box. Just for the record, I don't give a
damn if they're used to them in Japan. I'm not in Japan, obviously, and I'll never embrace those rotten
nets. Compared to ten years ago, the sport is turning into a yawn. Since I got the pretense out of the
way, let's get back to the main issue.
Politics is ruining a sport that's easting itself. Aren't a lot of you getting tired of millionaires
screaming at you every 5 minutes? A person who spends most of their day working hard and
trying to make a better life for themselves doesn't want to hear that they're racist every single time
they go to a ballgame. Baseball used to be a place to just relax and the sport better go back
to that and realize that Twitter isn't an audience. If it doesn't it will eat itself alive. Will I feel bad if
that occurs? Absolutely. Baseball is a big part of my life but will I laugh at it? Yeah, because
sports has been warned many, many times by a lot of people. Politics and sports do not mix
and it will catch-up with them soon.
