Dark Money Bought Amy Coney Barrett

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse made a brilliant lecture on ‘dark money’ which literally had the online giddy.  From what I understand it was an interesting spiel, (I didn’t watch it) and it should’ve woken a lot of people up to how corrupt Washington is.  However, with all the giddiness still hanging over everyone like a cloud, I have a question:

          Shouldn’t a lot of you know this already?

          Seriously, a lot of you are so ‘shocked’ but my god weren’t you aware of this already?  Is your life that much dominated by a screen that you couldn’t actually figure out that your congressmen, congresswomen, senators and judges are bought and paid for?  Have all of you stopped reading the paper that you didn’t know this? 

          Oh wait, I’m sorry, the word of Twitter is God.  How silly of me to forget it.  Okay, so now all of you know that dark money is controlling the Supreme Court.  What are you going to do about it?  Tweet?  Are you going to protest?  Oh yeah, go ahead, protest, tear down another statue that should make all of you feel better.  I noticed that with all of the holy indignation of dark money running the Supreme Court no one was mentioning the phrase ‘term limits’ for these people.

          Look, I told all of you that Amy Coney Barrett was going to do exactly what she’s told.  She can dance around all the questions as much as she wants but she’s a 48-year-old judge with minimum experience on the federal bench.  There are many more out there more qualified and more worthy of this position than her, but it doesn’t matter.  Amy Coney Barrett is on the Supreme Court to do what she’s told.  She might have the best mind in the world, but a lot of rich people are behind her success and she’s going to have to repay her masters.
