The Disregard of Politicians
The state of the USA in the world of
Covid-19 is sad. It’s a world of fear,
uncertainty, rage, disgust and desperation.
This pandemic will cause bankruptcies, home foreclosures and a lot of
longstanding medical problems in anyone who had the ‘bad’ strain of
Covid-19. Another factor that is really
tragic is how hungry people are. There
are so many people in line for the food banks that it’s shocking. Now, how can we fix it?
In all honesty, I have no idea. That isn’t my job and it’s apparent
politicians like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have no
answers. I believe that they only
concern themselves with showoff speeches and clever tweets. What’s disturbing about the both of them is
the fact that they think giving to charity takes away the images of people
waiting in line to get items from the Food Bank.
Any politician in their right mind should
be up all night worrying about this and the idea of people losing their homes
should be making them crazy. However, there
is no empathy there- there’s just a tweet and another fake promise.
Here’s the trouble with politics in
America. Twitter has made an environment
of people trying to find a hero and people can’t seem to get it through their
heads that politicians aren’t meant to be heroes- they’re meant to be employees
of the people. My biggest fear is that
the disappointment of Bernie Sanders will reignite the jumping (again) of the
AOC bandwagon and people will believe every single thing that she says.
The whole political system in the USA
is screwed-up. A lot of people are
talking ‘yellow vests’ and ‘revolution’ but to get past all of this people need
to get 2 things through their heads…
1. Bernie Sanders wasn’t the person that you
thought he was.
2. And
there are no political heroes.
Will
anyone take my advice? I doubt it. People should but there’s that spell
known
as Twitter and critical thinking is now an endangered species.
