A Letter to AOC
Dear Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,
Here is an honest question for
you: Do you do anything for people or is
your specialty just social media?
What? Don’t you like the question? I
will give you credit though for playing the Twitter crowd well. You and your
pals (aka. The Squad) sure got people excited with promises to voted for new House
leadership and to impeach Trump. You rolled with that online adoration and
somehow, some way you’ve managed to keep your name in the news and you make
sure that you go hand-in-hand with Cuomo to keep your name in the news.
However, before I continue, let it be
known that I am no fanny of Cuomo. As a matter of fact, I cannot stand any
politicians. I will never vote republican and it is very tempting to constantly
write names in for every election from now on, but I am getting off topic. This
is all about you, isn’t its Ms. Ocasio-Cortez? Everything, no matter what you
tweet, is always about you. Even when you make a point it is always with a meme
and a smiley face. You play those items well though do not you. People see them
and think you are relating to them. However, this is what I see when I look at
you.
I see you yet another politician, who
got a lot of publicity and is now thriving on power. I see you as a woman whose
head has really gotten too big, too fast. You say a lot of words but do not
really mean what you say. You are reaping in the benefits of a lifetime salary,
a big apartment and instant fame. In a couple of years, you will be a
millionaire and you are literally taking advantage of a public whose brains
have totally gone to mush because everything is centered on the online world
and it’s getting worse thanks to the pandemic.
Let me say, not everyone is like this,
I can think of 2 people online that you can have interesting conversations with
(my friend Rocky the cat comes to mind). I have a feeling that there are a lot
more people out there that think but might be afraid due to the viciousness of
the online crowd (which you milk Ms. Ocasio-Cortez). However, thanks to
politicians like you the idea of individualism is now out the window and I find
that to be an American tragedy.
In conclusion, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez I
think that you are, generally, all mouth. I do not see protesting that you are
in recess until May or saying anything about impeaching Trump since he is
endangering people’s lives. I also get a kick out of how you are trying to walk
back the vote on the stimulus bill. Yes, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, I do not like you
and I do not like your party. I will never vote republican and you can shrug me
off. It infuriates me that the democratic party is so screwed up, when I was
raised with the idea that the democrats are for the people. What really gets me
the most is that you could have been the beginning of a positive change, but you
are nothing, but a fraud dressed up in clever tweets and Instagram posts. Thanks
to you, I doubt any positive change can ever happen in American politics and that
really sucks.
