Politicians Take Advantage of Us On Twitter
Twitter is gold to society.
I wish I would've came up with it. I really, really do. There are so many users on it and it benefits a lot of people. You can connect with people in your field, it's a research tool, you can track people down and make new pals. It's also a valuable tool to a lot of people who can't get out due to illness or even age. Maybe one day, I'll return to it (look for it during primary season). However, this isn't about me. It's about Twitter and politicians.
Let me begin by saying this, there are so many things- so many problems in this country today. These problems are highlighted with Donald Trump in the White House. As I stated yesterday, grocery store prices have skyrocketed, infrastructure stinks, Middle America has an erosion problem, pensions are being liquidated, every environmental regulation seems to have disappeared, National Parks are hitting the endangered species category (I know that's weird) and I can go on and on. Democrats and republicans knows there are problems and people (no matter what the party) are not stupid. They know that there are problems and everybody wants the same thing.
Answers.
And this is where Twitter comes in.
Twitter's dominance has flourished, in part, due to lazy journalism. Politicians on both sides know this and they've jumped on it. They've milked it for every specific agenda imaginable and yes people that includes your progressive heroes. Now, I don't have to get into what Twitter does- everyone knows it. It has limitations- you can ignore who you don't like- you can call people names without any consequence. Twitter has also been instrumental in shutting down society's ability to get QUESTIONS ANSWERED. It's a cowardly forum and also a copout forum.
Politicians, since the beginning of time, are con artists. Twitter gives them the opportunity for the conning to grow. They tell you what you want to hear- they pat you on the head- they feed your ego and they act like your best friend in the whole world. They get away with it because they're never questioned and the more and more people that fall under the spell of these politicians the more they'll get away with. Technology is a great thing people but Twitter is, literally, ruining politics all over the world.
