It's Okay to be Sad About Notre Dame

You don't have to be religious to be sad about the Notre Dame fire...

You don't even have to have an in-depth knowledge of history to appreciate the beauty of it.

It's okay to be sad, no matter who you are, what religion you are or even where you are.  You might have never seen Paris in your life but just seeing that cathedral burn can make you cry.  Okay, so, why- why do so many feel so bad about the Notre Dame Fire?

Let me give you a theory....

Obviously, the idea of everything being 'completely original' is impossible.  Circumstances takes it toll on any great landmark and so does the basic concept of 'time.'  However, I think a lot of us feel sad about that fire and the concept of losing Notre Dame altogether is because of the age- 850 years- just think about it-

850 years....

There's a wow factor involved that a building conceived so long ago is still a factor in modern life.  In an age of technology, it's also comforting to know that a place like Notre Dame can inspire such wonder.  Having a cathedral so old in concept standing and hearing the stories of what had happened inside there can leave you wide-eyed and thinking, "hey wait a second maybe that world history class in high school wasn't so bad after all..."

It's okay to be sad about the Notre Dame fire...

Don't let anyone convince you otherwise...
