Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day everybody!  It's nice to have it after Easter because it's another excuse to take a break from the political world to think of something 'paws-itive.'  You can actually do something really nice this day besides tweet or blog so why not try this...

If it's nice out and you have some time go out and take a walk.

Have a backyard?  Check the number of birds visiting or even flying by.

Are you in driving distance of a state park or lake?  Take a visit if you have a chance.  You never know what you might run into.

Want to make an impact?  Go and pick up some litter.

Today might even be a good chance to visit a zoo or aviary.  It's always fun to learn about exotic animals but please, spare me the captivity lectures.  If it wasn't for good zoos we wouldn't see many of these animals.

Near a beach? Nothing can beat walking on one.  The sand always feels good and Earth Day makes it feel extra special.

Like taking pictures?  Trust me there's nothing more therapeutic than taking nature pics.

Thinking of starting a garden?  Go ahead- try it- you'll be surprised at how fun it is.

Pick up a book and read about one of your favorite outdoor animals.


I could go on and on and on but the outdoors is spectacular.  Enjoy it when you get a break today (I know I will) and have a great Earth Day!
