Do You Know Why The Green New Deal Failed?
Well, there are a lot of answers to that question.
The obvious one is the republicans, naturally, because once you saw it coming you knew it the end that they'd do everything to demolish it.
The second reason, is the messenger, again, I'LL KEEP SAYING IT, and if my progressive online buddies find this offensive, too bad:
You can't have a 29-year-old female from New York City, who belongs to no NY environmental organizations, who doesn't promote anything the city does in the form of nature and the outdoors as the face of climate change. Okay, IT WON'T WORK. Yeah, I've seen the snide comments, "Oh AOC doesn't have to focus one everything involving the environment. It's not her responsibility.' My answer too these comments are:
A. Yeah she does.
B. Yes it is.
Why?
When you have Bernie Sanders refer to her as a 'climate change expert,' (my how soon we forgot about that townhall), and her constant references to herself as 'the boss,' 'the only one doing anything,' etc. etc. you better come to the table with A LOT MORE than just talking about fossil fuels. If you want to be the queen AOC, you better start learning that WHEN YOU TALK CLIMATE CHANGE THERE'S MORE TO IT THAN WANTING TO DO AWAY WITH FOSSIL FUELS.
The Green New Deal's concept is good but her overall messaging of it was ridiculous. A 29-year-old from New York City with no background in agriculture has a lot of nerve commenting on it when all the information she gets is from Twitter. The fact that she has made the Green New Deal specifically racial also bugs me. Everyone from whites to blacks is getting sick because of pollution but AOC gives you the idea that she'd cut every tree down in white rural America just to please minorities. I don't think this woman has any desire to help or even listen to the cries for help of any race to be honest. The Green New Deal was a concept to make her look good and it stinks that this privileged fraud was allowed by this worthless party to do this.
In this age of Trump, you could've built-up to a Green New Deal and please SPARE ME THIS IDEA OF THIS SUNRISE COMMITTEE or whatever they are. Kids don't even go outside to play anymore so the fact they're all terrified about climate change is a joke. You could've worked a Green New Deal into all aspects of life by doing this:
Getting rid of the Halliburton loophole.
Recommending solar/wind for areas that have been mined completely.
Reforestation
Regulations. You could've started regulation fracking, MORE AND MORE so that these companies know not to dump in the streams and creeks.
You could've enforced environmental laws.
You could've protected the Endangered Species Act.
But no- we got the idea of a spoiled woman who basically wouldn't care if the entire country was covered in concrete. The environmental status of this country is going to get worse and I HATE TO TELL YOU PROGRESSIVES THIS but you can blame her for it. Unless a democrat gets the White House- no change that- you better hope they get the Senate because NOTHING good will ever come out to help the environment and when that happens...
