Governing Via Twitter

     The democrats do a lot of talking.  They also do a lot of tweeting.  The new democrats, who we’re supposed to fall at their feet and worship are especially good at this and they really like to huff and puff about how wonderful they are, especially Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  However, if you really take a good look at any tweet sent out by these politicians, they’re empty.

          But I will note exceptions here Bernie Sanders, Jeff Merkley and Tulsi Gabbard seem to be the only three that use Twitter the right way.  Obviously, there is only so much that 3 people can do.  Now, why am I ranting about this? 

Easy answer- this governing by Twitter gets on my nerves.

I’ll bet big money that I’m not alone on this, but I think many are afraid to say so because they don’t want thrown out of ‘the clique’ of progressive hotshots that everyone seems to adore.  A lot of my disgust stems from the fact of the same person being slammed down my throat 24/7.  Yeah, yeah, I’m repeating myself and yeah, yeah I’m getting off topic. Let me get to the point.

Omigod! You mean there’s a point???

Lol- yeah believe it or not there is- if only I could remember.  HAHA, I’m kidding!  Here’s something for all of you to think about and I mean this sincerely.

Thanks to the idiot in the White House this country has delved into a habit of being ‘governed via Twitter.’ Sorry, people you can pound your chest about social media as much as you want but it’s NEVER GOING TO WORK IN THE LONG TERM.  Social media gives politicians an easy out to get out of solving hard problems and it gives them a chance to promise stuff that’s never going to happen.

Besides that, this governing from social media also lets them (and I mean all of them) get away without answering real questions. Let me give you an example-

          When Ocasio-Cortez started those squealing tweets for a Green New Deal I asked questions- REALLY GOOD QUESTIONS.  What are you going to do about cleaning the waterways? How are you going to protect us from fracking RIGHT NOW? What about the situation the Arctic? What about the Endangered Species Act?  In my eyes- if you want a real Green New Deal you better start giving me the answers on some basics instead of saying this and that. 

Did she answer me?  Of course not- I did get a tweet from one of her fans though that said something to the effect of ‘well- well at least she’s doing something.’ And while that might satisfy you, that doesn’t satisfy me in the least for this reason: if you’re going to promote yourself as some kind of heroine to the environment you better bring all your facts to the table. She didn’t answer, like I said, and she’ll never give any real answers.  Social media has in effect shut people off from holding politicians on both sides accountable for anything.

This entire situation isn’t going to get any better.  As a matter of fact, I see it getting a lot worse.  Social media has not only made politicians lazy they’ve made the media lazy as well.  She’s not the only one that pulls stunts like this, all of them do it and Trump is a master at it. So, let me tell you something, you might like the tweets, the Instagram time, the Facebook posts from these politicians and that’s great they’re all glad you do.  They don’t want real contact with you, me or anyone else they want to hide behind a screen and thanks to that fact alone- we have a rotten president and a bunch of rotten representatives on both sides.
