Forget the South Progressives
There are a lot of good democrats and Green party members in the south. Two people that come to mind are two Twitter pals- Sparky and Socratic Gadfly. As a matter of fact, let's amend this to include a lady from Florida (on Twitter) named @barkway and I'm guessing she's a democrat. Now, I am missing a lot of people but note- I am not aware of everyone's location on Twitter but the point is that there are good democrats and Green party members out there.
But...
Progressives, you need to get it out of your heads that in a general election that Bernie Sanders can win the south. There is no way and note, I would not mind AT ALL to be wrong. However, due to the fact that I have a brother there I will state it now:
The south is a lost cause.
People, don't fall into the trap that Hillary Clinton fell into in 2016. Yes, it's great that minorities are responding better to Bernie. On a Super Tuesday he might do remarkably well (if he runs in 2020) but he's NOT GOING TO WIN THE SOUTH OVER TRUMP. Why?
It's because people are crude, easily led and love a big mouth telling them what to do. All Trump needs to do is go down there and scream: BERNIE IS A COMMUNIST and then he's done. It'll snowball because people like to be stirred up and, literally, told what to do. A Trump supporter (in the south) isn't going to take the time to educate themselves about Senator Sanders that would take too much work. If Trump survives his current legal trouble his mouth will carry him to certain victory.
Now if we're talking Mike Pence...
Oh my God- I don't even want to think about him as president.
If Trump doesn't run and it is Pence reinforce the belief to FORGET THE SOUTH. Those nuts down there will make sure Bernie is viewed as the devil incarnate. Look, you can believe what you want here but get off of Twitter for 5 minutes and use your head about stuff. Yes, one day republicans can be overthrown in the south but it's not going to happen anytime soon and if you keep being brainwashed about it-you'll be disappointed.
Note: I'll be happy to be wrong.
However, I told all of you on Twitter at the beginning of the year that Hillary Clinton was never going to be indicted none of you wanted to listen.
