The Electoral College

A long, long, LONG time ago there were rumbles about eliminating the Electoral College.  It was understandable considering the Al Gore incident, however I suppose it was easier to blame Ralph Nader for everyone's troubles.  But now- it's back and Bernie is harrumphing about it.

"Eliminate the Electoral College..."

"Down with Electoral College..."

Stamp your feet.  Let the Squad send tweets and then for sure it'll be gone- right?  Well...

Let's be honest, I wouldn't have a problem with the Electoral College being eliminated.  Get rid of superdelegates and I'll back you 100% but it's not that easy is it?  It seems like a real cop-out for the failings of Hillary Clinton instead of a sound idea.  Getting rid of the Electoral College isn't as easy as you think- no matter how many tweets you send about it- people need to think what they're doing.  In this age of technology, when you hear democrats talking about this you can't help but think this...

Do they hate Middle America that much?

Are they that lazy that they don't want to go to Ohio, Wisconsin or even western PA?  What about other parts of the west?  Are they all that snobby that they can't make one stop in areas like Missouri, Arizona, etc., etc.

Here's the trouble with the democrats- they want too be a coastal party and totally thumb their nose at most of America.  If you have a coastal party of New York and California you get more and more politicians who know NOTHING about your state telling you what to do.  I concede that they would visit more states than New York and California.  I supposed the so called squad would make sure their candidate paid their state a visit for public relations but I really wouldn't expect much.  This party, as a whole, doesn't want a diverse party which is also probably why you hear them whining that the Electoral College should go.

However, I'm just guessing here.

The motivations and the timing of the democrats bug me.  Like I said, Ralph Nader has been talking about no Electoral College for a long time- the fact that it's a priority now is laughable.  You have a country literally steamed at each other thanks to Trump and the so-called Squad and I'm taking a guess that if you really want this to happen it better proceed with caution.  At this point, democrats, you still need Middle America to win, you turn your backs on them completely- they'll stay home and shrug off Trump.  People want to be appreciated, they don't want to be used for avenging Hillary's loss.
