Narcissitic? No, Really? Well, Consider this...

In society, I think that we have a tendency to forget or try to block out the obvious.  It's easy because there is so much social media and there are a lot of desperate people out there looking for a hero.  So, after nosing around on Psychology Today's website I found these symptoms of a narcissistic personality disorder.  Just go through the list and tell me if it reminds you of anyone besides Donald Trump.

  • A grandiose sense of self-importance
  • Preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
  • Belief that one is special and can only be understood by or associate with special people or institutions
  • A need for excessive admiration
  • A sense of entitlement (to special treatment)
  • Exploitation of others
  • A lack of empathy
  • Envy of others or the belief that one is the object of envy
  • Arrogant, haughty behavior or attitudes
Oh, I'm sure you know where I'm going with this.  In my own opinion, I see Ms. Ocasio-Cortez fitting in with 7 of these points.  Now, to delve a little further what followed this was extremely interesting and I quote:

'Individuals with NPD can easily be stung by criticism or defeat..'

Note- there are mentions of reacting with anger and social withdrawl and some humility.  However, it does open your eyes some, doesn't it?  Oh wait it doesn't?

Nah, of course it doesn't.  Since I'm about the only one who deems themselves a progressive not gushing over them that makes me a 'Nancy Pelosi- moderate democrat lover who voted for Hillary and is a racist like Trump.'  Of course! *smacks head*  How silly of me to forget.

But keep this in mind people- file it away.  Go back on it- in a couple of years you'll be sorry you didn't listen to me.
